Jamaica: Burn Victim of Palm Grove Scheme Needs Help

Burnt Victim Needs Help – Last Friday, twenty-five-year-old Kerry-Ann Collins struggled to escape her home in the Palm Grove housing scheme after the gas cylinder exploded, setting her ablaze.

Kerry-Ann’s mother Delcita Anderson says her daughter (the burnt victim) received third-degree burns to her body and is now battling for life at the Kingston Public Hospital.

She recounts the moments leading up to the explosion. Kerry-Ann’s uncle came to their rescue. Delcita says when they tried to escape they realized they were trapped.

If a more devastating fire should occur the residents fear that it will be deadly. Especially depending on where in the building the fire starts.

The family says the medical team at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) is doing an exceptional job..

However Kerry-Ann will need to be transferred to a hospital in Miami Florida, but that bill stands at US 773, 500 with air fare costing us 15, 550.

The family is desperately seeking financial assistance. Mother Delcita says the help will be of significance as they seek to provide care for Kerry-Ann.
