Jamaica: Police Shot In Half-Way Tree, St. Andrew

Police shot in Half-Way Tree: Early reports on an alleged shooting in Half-Way Tree yesterday afternoon describe a Policeman being shot and injured along with a citizen.

The Policeman was in the commercial hub, close to the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre when he observed someone being robbed; he attempted to intervene but was fired upon by the robbers. 

During the confrontation, the cop and at least one civilian were hit.

The explosions sent members of the public scurrying for cover. 

They have been rushed to hospital.

The incident has resulted in massive traffic delays in Half-Way Tree.
