The Jamaica Postal service has launched a new stamp to commemorate Jamaica’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations on August 6. Keynote speaker at the event, Minister of Youth and Culture Olivia Babsy Grange, says this is a symbolic moment for Jamaican culture.
Speaking at the launch of the Jamaica 60 stamp, Culture Minister Olivia Babsy Grange says this new venture is symbolic and fitting for Jamaica’s milestone in celebrating 60 years of independence. She notes stamps of this nature are a must as Jamaicans on the various spectrum of the creative scale continue to excel.
Minister Grange is also imploring all Jamaicans locally and overseas to purchase the stamps. The stamp was crafted by a university student who was selected in a competition spearheaded by the Ministry of Youth and Culture. Watch the full report:
