In a bid to boost the innovation industry, Jamaica received additional electric vehicles (EV) from China. The official handover took place at the Stewart’s Auto Headquarters in Kingston.
Transport and Mining Minister Audley Shaw says this is a massive step into the future, which Jamaica will be part of. He noted the preservation of the environment is crucial as often more emphasis is placed on the services. The minister is encouraging Jamaicans to go electric.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Andrew Holness says Jamaica has been lagging behind in the innovation industry, noting that as combustion engines are becoming a thing of the past, Jamaica must be in a position to embrace the future. Watch the full report below:
