Jamaica To Purchase $250m Fire Truck for Upcoming Fiscal Year

Making his contribution to the sectoral debate, Minister of Rural Development and Local Government, Desmond McKenzie placed on record the Government’s intent to increase efficiency in the Jamaica Fire Brigade, JFB.

The minister says with the fast-paced infrastructural changes and Jamaica considering taller buildings they’re looking to invest in more fire trucks for Montego Bay and Kingston. McKenzie presented the figures on the loss of properties while noting the developments over the past year. Since there is expansion and pending infrastructure development on the island, McKenzie says investing in the trucks which will cost approximately 250 million each is a worthwhile investment.
