Jamaica: Tracey-Ann Ricketts Needs Your Help

Tracey-Ann Ricketts needs your help – A father is calling on the government to intervene in a medical emergency involving his child. Trace Ricketts staged a peaceful protest on Monday morning to create awareness about the life-threatening illness his daughter has which has now left her blind in one eye.

The fourteen year old, Tracey-Ann Ricketts, who is suffering from a rare form of cancer in the face. In mid-July, she started feeling pain in the right side of her jaw, she was taken to a local clinic where an x-ray was conducted and was told that she had an impacted wisdom tooth.

From one hospital to a next, with the pain getting more severe an MRI was recommended. It was then discovered that Tracey-Ann had osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer that begins in the cells that form bones.

Tracey-Ann is currently at the University Hospital of the West Indies however, the severity of her condition requires medical attention outside of the country.

Mr. Rickets sought international assistance, however, a letter was sent to the Minister of Health and Wellness Dr. Christopher Tufton. And now a number of entertainers including king Yellowman who had that same tumor have joined the call for some assistance.
