The shooting death of Japan’s Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, has left several Jamaican politicians in mourning. Members of the senate today expressed their condolences while reflecting on the man they described as hard working and diplomatic. Foreign Affairs Minister and Senator, Kamina Johnson-Smith on Friday shared aspects of the relations between Jamaica and Japan’s Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who died after being shot at a campaign event in the city of Nara.
She also highlighted their continued support for small island developing states as it relates to disaster risk management. Opposition Senator Floyd Morris also spoke on Mr. Abe’s contribution to Jamaica.
Shadow Minister on Foreign Affairs Lisa Hanna in a statement says he was a strong leader, humble statesman and global champion of peace.
