The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Mining has reported a notable increase in the number of young farmers across the island. Additionally, the ministry has announced its plans to relaunch a specialized program tailored for female farmers, recognizing that a significant portion of their earnings remains within the country.
These announcements were made by the minister during the launch of the “Improving Rural Livelihoods through Resilient Agri-Food Systems Project.” This project is a collaborative effort between the ministry, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and the India-UN Development Partnership Fund. Its primary objective is to enhance agriculture through various funding initiatives and projects. Watch the report:
