Jamaicans Urged to Report for Jury Duty

Jamaicans are being urged to report for jury duty. This follows reports of low juror turnout across courts in the country. As we continue our focus on this issue since the call by noted Attorney Tom Tavares Finson for jury trials to be abolished, CVM LIVE took to the streets to gauge the opinions of Jamaicans concerning jury duty.

Director of Client Services, Communication and Information Kadeish Fletcher of the Court Administration of Jamaica is reporting that all circuit courts have been empaneled. Fletcher advises that jurors have a duty to report to court or risk incurring a 10 thousand dollar fine. Watch the full report:
