Jamcovid19 App Breach: Data Protection Act Questioned

Questions continue to arise surrounding the security of the Jamcovid19 database, an app that was a mandatory download for all visitors arriving in Jamaica, as a breach that led to the personal data of thousands of users being exposed. 

The app was mandatory for download for all visitors arriving in Jamaica- Travel details like the location of applicants, among several pieces of information stored in the database.

A member of the opposition is now questioning whether the country is ready for a system such as NIDS which is far more advanced
