In an interview with CVM Live on Monday, President of the Jamaica Association of Principals of Secondary Schools (JAPSS), Linvern Wright, emphasized that the issue of teacher migration is poised to once again yield significant consequences for students who are struggling academically. Wright pointed out that the pressing concern as the new school year approaches is the shortage of teachers.
According to the President of JAPSS, this shortage presents a challenge for the recruitment process. Wright highlights the necessity of addressing this concern through a meeting with the Jamaica Teachers Association. Furthermore, he indicates that over time, students grappling with literacy challenges will be the ones most severely affected.
