While Jamaica has adequate resources to cultivate sugar, the President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS) is calling on the government to avoid the importation of sugar at this time. The President says Jamaica has always been importing white sugar for various purposes however he maintains there is no need to import brown sugar.
President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, Lenworth Fulton is calling on the government to address the issue of sugar importation. As he anticipates greater development in the agricultural industry this year, Fulton notes the need for the government to address the problem swiftly. Watch the report below:
