The Jamaica Constabulary Force is highlighting a longstanding domestic violence issue plaguing especially the nation’s women and children. The security forces have hosted an intervention in Clarendon, to tackle the problem in an engaging and effective way.
As many continue to focus on murders and other violent crimes, Assistant Commissioner of Police Calvin Allen is turning his attention to domestic violence, as he urges the victims to speak up.
“Enough is enough” is how Allen puts it. He says enough damage has been done as a result of domestic disputes. This follows several recent anti-domestic violence campaigns put on by the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
In fact, the Clarendon police recently held an intervention in the parish to educate and advise against resorting to violence to solve domestic problems.
The police engaged the residents with a karaoke, and later ended with a strong message for abusers and victims. This campaign is among the latest efforts of the JCF to engage Jamaicans in an effective way.
