After months of inflation on gas prices there was a decrease on Wednesday by $4.50 cents. President of the Jamaica Gasolene Retailers Association, Dianne Parram, says she is anticipating a $4.50 decrease for the next 4 consecutive weeks.
For the first time in over six weeks, Petrojam has announced a decrease in gas prices by $4.50 cents, following reductions of only 25 cents per week for the last 6 weeks.
Parram, says Wednesday’s marked decline is a step in the right direction. She notes as prices go down on the world market, the retailers are anticipating a $4.50 decrease for the next four consecutive weeks. She’s further calling on Petrojam to examine the pricing mechanism that is used. The president stresses that since the Russia-Ukraine conflict gas price went up to $56. She says a consecutive $4.50 decrease would bring back some form of normality. Watch the full report:
