The leader of the Trelawny Lay Magistrates Association is dedicating resources to increase awareness regarding sexual abuse and incest in specific parts of the parish that have gained notoriety due to these incidents. Certain communities in southern Trelawny were identified as high-priority zones in a recent exposé. This followed a series of cases in the circuit court where the Chief Justice strongly criticized the offenders, many of whom victimized individuals aged between 11 and 15 years old.
