President of the Jamaica Teachers Association is warning ministers of announcements made on party platforms to score political points after Prime Minister Andrew Holness said the government will be establishing a few Science,Technology, Engineering, Math, (STEM) Schools across the island.
The group says a shortage of teachers in STEM coupled with the existing framework at public schools and the global trend towards technology, means the government should be making stem more accessible to students rather than restricted to a few schools.
