JTA President- ‘Some Teachers Underpaid, Some Unpaid’

No teacher will be worse off with the new wage agreement, Finance Minister Dr Nigel Clarke assured the nation recently, but this is a promise unkept, according to President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, La Sonja Harrison. 

She says the recent disbursement of salaries showed several discrepancies, including some teachers being underpaid and some remaining unpaid. Disappointed, unappreciated, and neglected are just a few words to describe the dire mix of emotions plaguing our nation’s teachers.  Watch the report:
