Member of Parliament for west rural St. Andrew, Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, is again calling for an increase in the Constituency Development Fund (CDF ). The MP says while the communities benefit, a lot more needs to be done, and the present figure will not be able to facilitate that.
Eager to meet her people’s demand, MP Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn insists that the allocation of $22 million as constituency development funds for parliamentarians per year should be increased. Cuthbert Flynn strongly believes that an extra $10 million should be added to the existing sum, which would allow for more aid for housing and a strong focus on education.
The Constituency Development Fund was first introduced in 2008 with the intention to promote human and infrastructure development at the community and constituency levels. Cuthbert-Flynn has applauded the CDF and says it is a great source of help where she has given grants to numerous students at the tertiary level.
