Justice Minister Delroy Chuck is championing restorative practices in the nation’s schools noting this initiative under the Justice Ministry, is a means by which it can teach children how to settle their differences. He notes accountability is also key in mending the relationship between offender and victim. Minister Chuck further adds it’s imperative as Jamaicans that people get along.
He notes the justice ministry has the mandate to have restorative justice in schools, as starting with the children as the bridge to restore unity in Jamaica. Education Minister Fayval Williams says the Education Ministry is in total support of the initiative. Watch the report:
