Kevan Nemard Killed: Violence Triggered In St Andrew South-West – On New Year’s Eve, while 32-year-old Kevan Nemard of Delacree, Kingston was out gambling within the community, when he was shot and killed – Moments before the beginning of the new year.
The suspect is said to be from the neighbouring community of Brown’s Land or what residents refer to as Oakland Road.
Nemard’s death allegedly triggered war between the two communities.
Two days after Nemard was killed, residents from Browns Lane claim they heard gunshots. Upon investigating, they realized the house among a wooden chain of houses that was targeted was not only set ablaze, but its occupant killed.
There residents were incensed by the murder of Nemard and demanded that the community hands over the killer to them.
Member of Parliament for southwest St. Andrew, Dr. Angela Brown Burke says she’ll try to assist brown’s land residents who lost their homes.
However, she is imploring both communities not to escalate the matter any further.
However, as the CVM team listens to both sides of the fence they both held different views.
