The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has officially overhauled one of its major services, which it says will improve efficiency and customer satisfaction. Effective Wednesday, July 13, the criminal records office, which produces police records, among other services, will begin the process of digitization and adding a new location for the pickup of completed records.
The measures are targeted at reducing long lines, by providing fast online services to increase productivity in the space. The upgraded system will increase the storage capacity and reduce the processing time taken to generate police certificates.
JCF’s Senior Communications Strategist, Dennis Brooks, says the first major change sees the process of setting an appointment to move online. He says after completing the online application process applicants will receive an email with information regarding their next steps. Brooks says to support the public going forward, a help line has been established. For assistance persons may use the online chat feature to resolve any issues they may face. Watch the full report:
