Kingston Neighbourhood Watch Foils Robbery

The Elletson Flats community prevented a car robbery early Monday morning through their special Neighbourhood Watch Alert System. The culprits escaped; however, residents say it was for the better as there was no telling what would have happened to them. However, Vice President of the Elleston Flats Citizens Association, Glen Brown, discourages the “mob mentality” and urges Jamaicans to contact the police instead. He also urges Jamaicans to take personal measures to secure their homes

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has been encouraging community policing in recent months. Their “Get Every Illegal Gun Campaign” urges Jamaicans to report illegal activities and the location of illegal ammunition. The push drove residents of Elletson Flats in St Andrew into action.
