The Kingston & St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has approved a resolution for a more regularized system of garbage collection and better waste management. The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) is expected to receive an additional 50 trucks to aid in the process.
People’s National Party (PNP) Councillor Andrew Swaby says untimely garbage collection has been an issue for far too long. He says the NSWMA often neglects its duty to visit communities and rid citizens of their garbage at least once per week. Instead, he says people are stuck with piles of garbage for weeks.
