The Kingston and St. Andrew municipal corporation (KSAMC) is on a mission to demolish illegal structures in the market district of Downtown, Kingston. Municipal Police Commandant, Duane Anderson says they will be relentless in doing their demolition activities.
Those structures have been described to be illegal shops built on the sides and often in the roads, encroaching pedestrians and motorists. Speaking with CVM LIVE on Wednesday, the Municipal Police Commandant at the KSAMC Duane Anderson says the corporation has collaborated with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to execute an enforcement drive. Anderson is urging vendors in the district to be mindful of the rules regarding setting up shops and vending on the roads.
He says while he understands they are doing so for their own livelihood, however it will not be tolerated.
