The memorial for late Ambassador Anthony Johnson was on Thursday, May 27, at the Kingston College Chapel in Kingston, at Johnson’s alma mater. Attended by several dignitaries, friends, and family members virtually and physically due to the pandemic, the former ambassador was remembered as a godly, hardworking and caring family man, politician, and educator. Tributes poured in from relatives who recounted Johnson’s larger-than-life personality and wisdom.
He was the recipient of the Order of Jamaica and served as a government senator, minister, and long-time member of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP). But greater than his many titles and international roles, was his service to family and the church, as a father and committed Methodist.
