A perimeter wall was erected at the Lionel Town Hospital at a cost of 40 million dollars in a bid to ramp up security. The wall which was completed Friday was the result of a partnership between the National Health Fund (NHF) and the Ministry of Health.
Member of Parliament for South East Clarendon, Pearnel Charles Jr. says not only will the wall aid with security but the beautification of the facility and that the move is set to benefit patients and workers. Charles Jr. shared that the vision is to develop the health facility into a space where citizens can have access to the best without considering elsewhere. He went further, stating that the Lionel Town area will continue to receive a facelift.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton, emphasised that a critical government infrastructure that serves communities and people should have a minimum standard adding that the value of presentation should not be undervalued. Watch the full report:
