As tensions linger in Ukraine, the Opposition Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Lisa Hanna is urging the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kamina Johnson Smith to evacuate Jamaican students immediately. She is also urging the government to be more transparent in how it handles the matter.
Minister Kamina Johnson Smith recently announced that over forty Jamaican students in Ukraine are being encouraged to make the necessary arrangements to leave the country if necessary. She also stated permission has been granted by Germany to facilitate travel among the students even without them having the requisite visas.
However, Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister, Lisa Hanna told CVM LIVE, the approach should be to immediately evacuate the students. More details in this report:
