The people of St. Catherine are criticizing the government’s decision to not extend the State of Public Emergency in the parish. They fear once the measure is withdrawn, there will be reprisals. They share the SOE should be extended, to focus on ridding the parish of gangsters.
Meanwhile, one business operator says since the state of public emergency was implemented, there has been some reassurance for residents’ safety. She says once the operation is lifted, the violent prone area will be impacted for the worst Dr. Chang made the announcement in parliament on Tuesday, that there will be no need for an extension, as the government is satisfied with law enforcement’s performance to curtail the crime monster in the parish.
