Fish Vendors at the Greenwich Town Fishing Village in Kingston are hoping for a miracle as they say sales have dipped significantly when compared to the previous Easter holidays. They say with the hike in fuel costs, fishermen have raised the cost per pound for fish and they too are forced to increase the cost to consumers. Our news team visited the Greenwich Town Fishing Village which would usually, around this time of the year, be buzzing with activity.
But that was not the case as there were more fish vendors than fish buyers. The vendors are of the view that the low sales is due to people being strapped for cash. They say it also revolves around the hike in fuel prices which has led to the increase in fish prices. The few buyers are however keeping the tradition alive. More details in this report:
