Jamaica’s Minister of Legal and Constitutional Affairs Malahoo Forte was criticized for her Presidential Role Response. Her response comes at a time when suspicion is growing among some Jamaicans who question the government’s priorities in pushing for Jamaica’s Republic status while the country struggles to get a grip on crime and other social ills.
Recently, the Constitutional Reform Committee hosted an awareness town hall in St James that saw the legal affairs and constitutional reform minister coming under fire for her response to Presidential Role Response.
In her response to criticism, Minister Forte did not seem surprised by the criticism she received from some sections of society but insisted that her response was a reference to an early part of the discussion.Watch the report:
