The police have detained, the man who issued a bomb threat to the owners of the Rubis Gas Station in Ocho Rios, St. Ann on Sunday. The man, who identifies himself as an artiste, sent a video recording across social media, which has since gone viral.
He later said the threat, which disrupted business operations, was a prank; he was detained by the police in St. Catherine earlier today. In an audacious act of tom-foolery gone wrong, a video emerged online, Sunday, unveiling an extortion plot against the owner of a gas station in St. Ann. The footage exposed a daring demand for an exorbitant sum of 20 million dollars or a bomb would be detonated, plunging the local community into a state of alarm and prompting an immediate response from the authorities.
The man at the heart of the threat has since been apprehended by the police, even after declaring on social media that his action was merely a prank. Watch the report:
