One man is in custody and dozens of stolen vehicles were recovered from a St Andrew- based chop shop following a major police operation Monday afternoon. Police say the theft of the vehicles span as far as Clarendon.
Vehicles of different makes and models, at varying degrees of being disassembled, were discovered at the location in St Andrew. Police say it was a major disruption in what is being considered a car stealing ring based in the red hills area.
Head of the team that carried out the police operation says a man has been taken into custody following the discovery. Much of what was happening was shrouded, it seems, in secrecy and shrubs as parts littered the yard and the building that housed the illicit operation.
