Lascelles Morgan, the accused charged with the abduction and murder of Danelle Anglin, is dead. He was found hanging in his cell last week and has succumbed to his injuries.
The abduction of teacher Anglin prompted a manhunt led by detectives from the St. Catherine South Division’s CIB. Morgan was eventually captured during an operation at a beach on Port Henderson Road in Portmore by the division’s Special Operations Unit.
Forensic evidence, telecommunications analysis, and canine units were utilized to locate the victim’s remains. After being presented with overwhelming evidence, Morgan confessed to the murder. He was charged by W/Det. Sgt. Melonie Williams of the division’s Proactive Investigation Unit.
Morgan never expressed remorse for the crime and had previously served a sentence for sexual offenses.
