Another serious accident in Yallahs, St Thomas on Sunday, is being blamed on poorly lit streets and limited signage. While there were no fatalities residents demand action. At least two accidents in less than 24 hours in the newly opened section of the Albion main road, in Yallahs, St Thomas.
The incomplete thoroughfare has left a lone occupant of a white Mitsubishi Colt, with an amputated leg after a devastating collision on Sunday.
CVM LIVE understands that the man was traveling towards Kingston when he collided with a parked tractor. The man who was allegedly speeding came up on a sharp turn he thought was a straight road, due to the road’s poor visibility.
Firefighters who were in the area putting out a fire at an auto shop on poor man’s corner, rushed to the crash scene to remove the man from the mangled metal.
He was later rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH), where he underwent surgery. An onlooker spoke with our news team. Meantime, the national works agency says an update will be provided on the matter following further checks.
