Manchester Man Sentenced to 18 Years, 5 Months for Killing Girlfriend /Co-Worker

A former delivery supervisor in Manchester was sentenced to 18 years and 5 months for killing his co-worker who was also his lover. The sentence was handed down in the Manchester Circuit Court by Judge Lorna Shelly Williams.

Andre Broomfield was initially charged with murder but the charge was later reduced to manslaughter after he indicated in his caution statement that he was provoked by the woman.

Reports are that Broomfield, along with Whyte and another co-worker were in the lunchroom when he confronted her about a kiss from another male before shooting her in the face.

It was read in court that he had said in a caution statement ” me take up this girl and give her everything, build her all two-bedroom house, pay off her credit card and me realise say she have another man… Me see this youth a kiss, kiss her up and me talk to her and she a diss me up. Mi just snap.”

Broomfield was initially charged with illegal possession of firearm and murder to which he pleaded not guilty. But his murder charge was reduced to manslaughter on the basis that he was provoked by Whyte; he pleaded guilty earlier this month. Watch the report below:
