Manchester Records Its First Murder For 2021

As it grapples with a recent spike in COVID-19 cases and tighter restrictions, Manchester recorded its first murder for 2021, on Tuesday.

Head of the Manchester Police, Superintendent Gary Francis is however seeking to reassure residents that the police will be making every effort to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Fifty-seven-year-old shopkeeper, Everton Ranglin, otherwise called ‘Bunny’ and ‘Ginga’ is the first recorded murder victim in Manchester since the start of the year.

Additionally, a mother of two of his children, Stacy-ann Gayle, says, at around 8:15, on Tuesday morning, he took her to her shop in Hatfield in the parish, not knowing his death was only minutes away.

She describes him as jovial, loving and friendly, a man who took good care of his family.

Gayle says she’s not aware of him being at odds with anyone.

Head of the Manchester Police, Superintendent Gary Francis says a motive has not yet been established for Ranglin’s murder.

He is reassuring residents that the police will be doing their best to ensure that justice prevails.
