Opposition Leader Mark Golding visited the family of 12-year-old Jennel Walters, who was found dead after being washed away in Tuesday’s torrential rainfall in Montego Bay, St. James. Golding, who expressed deep sympathies for the family, also visited the men who rescued Jennel’s grandfather and his daughter from the floodwaters.

A search is still underway for her grandmother.

He made a stop at the South Gully, which he says is the last major piece of infrastructure built by the People’s National Party 20 years ago.

He however highlights that the gully has not been maintained.

The Opposition Leader is calling on the government to quickly improve the drainage system in Montego Bay. He says another area of concern is the poor collection of garbage.
