Maroon Chief Again Calls for Dialogue to Settle Sovereignty Issue

Communication is to diplomacy as blood is to the human body, that’s according to Maroon Leader Chief Richard Currie, who on Wednesday, March 23, led a delegation of maroons to King’s House and the British High Commission to deliver letters, seeking audience regarding the rights of the indigenous group.

The Chief is convinced that the process of diplomacy is dead with the government of Jamaica as they continue to disregard their sovereignty.

Commenting on the royal’s visit To Jamaica, Chief Currie says he’s uncertain what their presence will derive for the maroons, but says Jamaica has unsettled debts for his people. More details here:
