The protest on Tuesday, May 25 has shed light on the alleged cruelty of other staff members at the Maxfield Park Children’s Home.

The protesters have not only questioned the credentials of the news story but the part the police had to play in charges laid.

Staff members allege the investigations were not transparent however, senior communication strategist in the Constabulary, Dennis Brooks says the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has handled the investigations with great professionalism.

Brooks also commended the guidance counselor at the institution who stands as a representative for the children and the Child Protection & Family Services Agency (CPFSA) a representative.

He says not only are they doing their jobs well but staff should remember their jobs are focused on the safety of the wards of the state and should refrain from demonizing the guidance counselor and the CPFSA representative.
