Maxfield Residents Outraged by Alleged Brute Force by Police

Claims of brute force, pepper spray, and disrespect sparked outrage among residents of one community off Maxfield Avenue in Kingston. They are demanding justice and intervention from the relevant authorities.

Washing his clothes and minding his business Monday afternoon according to residents of sunlight street. They claim things were normal until nine police officers came in under the guise of conducting an operation and used brute force on 33-year-old Trasion Clarke in his home.

Clarke’s mother who rushed to the scene of the brawl says she tried to intervene and was also allegedly attacked by the police. CVM LIVE understands Clarke was taken to the Denham Town Police Station.

The community which falls under the S. Andrew South Constituency has been experiencing a longstanding gang feud between the front and back sections of the community. The residents also point to the absence of Member of Parliament Mark Golding adding persons to include those battling mental illness are in fear for their lives.

They note the community however doesn’t fall under the State of Public Emergency (SOPE) in effect in sections of the parish.

Residents are appealing to the member of parliament and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) to address the matter. Watch the full report:
