Efforts are being made by the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation to eradicate the persistent rat infestation across the Municipality.
CVM LIVE understands they are seeking to establish a formal partnership with different stakeholders to find a permanent solution. The magnitude at which rats have taken up residence in Kingston and St Andrew is apparently too much for the municipal corporation to eradicate on its own.
Mayor of Kingston, Senator Delroy Williams says the municipality is seeking to partner with different stakeholders to eradicate the decades-old issue. Meanwhile, he joins the chorus of voices demanding people who use the spaces take better care of their surroundings.
He provides an update from Tuesday’s monthly Municipal Meeting. The mayor says despite what resolutions are provided by stakeholders, the issue will persist if no behavioural change, even for business operators.
