Mayor: Portmore Crime a Serious Concern

The Mayor of Portmore, Leon Thomas, is appealing to residents to play their part in the fight against crime. He reported that to eliminate the burden of crime small groups are giving dialogue with the community in order to strategize on the best way forward.

Portmore residents are assured that every effort is being made to make the municipality safe again as it grapples with a flare-up of crime and violence.

The guarantee from the Mayor of Portmore who says residents too have to play their part.

While reporting on the measures implemented in hopes of fighting crime, he lauded law enforcement in Portmore, Mayor Thomas has recognized Constable Micheal Beckford for his valour. 

“We cannot live in a community where we are afraid to go about our business”

– Mayor of Portmore.
