Mayor Williams: Event Applications Must Come Through KSAMC

Kingston Mayor Delroy Williams says applications for upcoming events must come through the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC).

The Mayor says there has been a steady increase in applications for permits from party promoters in the corporate area.

The Mayor notes that permits for parties hosting over a hundred persons, are processed through the Ministry of Culture while events hosting fewer than a hundred patrons come directly to the KSAMC.

Mayor Williams says, however, though other partner agencies may give approvals, the Municipality’s decision is final.

He says notifications are made to the Health Ministry as it relates to smaller events. In the meantime, the Mayor urges promoters to adhere to the proper COVID-19 procedures implemented by the Municipality.
