CVM LIVE understands up to Monday no firearm was turned in since the launch of the amnesty on November 5., however, that has since changed based on information received from an official at the Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA). While acknowledging the amnesty was a good gesture on the government’s part, former Deputy Chairman of the FLA, Dennis Meadows is far from convinced that it will reap the desired results Jamaica is no stranger to gun amnesties, causing meadows to question what would make this amnesty any more effective than the previous ones.
