The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Desmond McKenzie says youth are the greatest victims of COVID-19. Speaking at the Youth Mayors’ forum in Trelawny on Wednesday, November 23, McKenzie says the youth have suffered in other ways too adding their education has been affected.
Minister McKenzie lauded the young mayors for raising issues affecting them in their respective jurisdictions. He then outlined plans to work closely with youth mayors to best address their concerns and implement suggested solutions.
Some Junior Mayors told CVM Live they are grateful to be taken seriously, the forum has been held as part of Local Government month.
