As persons voice their concerns about teachers being compensated for vaccination, Minister Williams explained that for teachers of a particular age, the government will continue to support them.
Some stakeholders have also expressed their concerns regarding the Delta variant ahead of the new school term, Education Minister Fayval Williams says the Ministry is prepared to facilitate students through the various mediums available. In regards to the parents who may have grave concerns given the delta variant as September approaches, the Minister notes the Ministry has been prepared to use the various modalities that have already been established.
Minister Williams notes schools are familiar with the modalities designed for learning, and states that online learning has not paused, along with the ‘Own Your Own Device‘ initiative and other government procurement programs. The Minister adds that institutions are also prepared to facilitate students come September.
This as the Prime Minister says the third wave of infections has severely hampered plans for the mid-September reopening of schools.
