Minor Allegedly Starts Fire: A family is now going through the rubble of what was their home in Compound, Exchange, St. Ann after the three-bedroom structure was destroyed by fire on Friday, October 2.
The fire which was allegedly started by a three year old in the home destroyed everything in its path.
According to the family, nothing was saved. The incident happened at about 3 PM.
Family members gazed on in disbelief at what was their three-bedroom house. They said they are already hearing of receiving items from members of the community but their concern is a place to sleep. One member of the family said she was not sure if she will be able to sleep but she would really like a place to stay.
Councilor for the Division, Ian Bell added that the community is rallying around to assist the family. He says the family will receive food items and clothing from the Municipal Corporation. However, they will need a place to live in the longterm.
