A 65-year old woman reportedly died at the Spanish Town Hospital in St. Catherine on December 17, but her relatives say they had no knowledge of her passing. Her daughter, who spoke with our news team, is this evening seeking answers surrounding her mother’s death.
It’s a sad reality that Shawna-Lee Johnson has not yet come to terms with. Losing her mother, and not knowing until weeks after. Johnson says her mother; Rebecca Foster left her friend’s house in Thompson Pen Spanish Town on Friday, December 17, 2021
Her destination, home on St. John’s road, but she didn’t make it. Johnson says her mother would normally stay at her friend’s house, so the family thought she was still there.
It was just before Christmas they became aware that she was missing. They then filed a missing person’s report at the police station. After days of searching, according to Johnson, the only information the hospital had was her mother’s name and date of birth.
Johnson, who is evidently overwhelmed, has questions surrounding her mother’s death.
Our news team contacted the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Jacqueline Ellis who expressed sympathy to the family and says the matter is being investigated.
