MOE: 383 Primary Schools Okay-Ed for Reopening – As more schools get approval to reopen for phase two of face-to-face learning, Education Minister Fayval Williams says all schools should use a mixed modality to deliver lessons. She was speaking during a Sitting of the Lower House on Tuesday.
Minister Fayval Williams also announced that high schools with a vaccination rate of 65 percent or higher are to resume face-to-face classes. She insists all schools should use a blended approach to reach students and observe other guidelines provided by the ministry.
Minister Williams reports 60 percent of the secondary school target population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 24 percent are fully vaccinated. She also provided an update regarding transportation for students adding that the transport ministry has been heavily invested and has implemented a rural transportation system for students amid the pandemic.
