Education Minister Fayval Williams has announced the launch of the yearlong “end violence in schools’ campaign “Jus Medz It”. The campaign is part of the Ministry’s latest push to reduce violent behaviors among children in schools and foster more peaceful environments. On the heels of several instances of violence in schools across the country, Minister of Education Fayval Williams says the Ministry is focused on promoting a peaceful environment in schools.
Speaking at the launch of the “Jus Medz it Campaign”, Education Minister Williams says the campaign is aimed at reducing instances of indiscipline in schools and is also expected to shift the culture of violent confrontation among children. The initiative will be centered on targeted intervention and is designed to help preserve schools as safe places. Minister Williams says the execution of the yearlong campaign, will be done through a multifaceted approach.
The campaign will also include an expansion of uniformed groups in schools, with strategies being implemented to target high school drop-outs and school gangs.
